Before the project will begin, an intensive conversation with both the IT and the trading department takes place on-site, in order to get a preferably correct idea of the current situation, as well as the targets, connected with the analysis.
In the 1st phase afterwards, the current Front End Installation’s status and the data streams’ ways are recorded in a configuration table, analysed, diagrammed, compared with the current Sizing Guidelines of Deutsche Börse AG, and the results are described in a first report. Thereby, more or less pronounced modifications of the configuration arise.
In a 2nd phase, all inquiries and transactions, caused by the single trader PCs and 3rd Party application servers, are examined during several trading days, and the results are described in a second report.
As a result, demerits/bottlenecks of the Front End Installation are revealed consistently up to the causer.
An essential part of the second report is a detailed action list, describing the modifications at the Front End Installation, arranged according to priority. All realised modifications are documented.
After each conversion of the Front End Installation, a controlling measurement of all relevant systems is executed and compared with the results of the previous analysis. Should the complete system be optimum with regard to the RTT of all orders and quotes of a trading day, the IT’s and business’ persons in charge are presented the results.
The VIMAX Software (VIMAXProfile, VIMAXStatistics and VIMAXMonitor) necessary for the extraction of measured data, is installed on selected GATE systems of the customer on-site at the beginning of the project, and temporarily licenced for the project’s duration. After the end of the measurements the software is deinstalled again.
